Playdate

BFF alert! Zoe and Lydia finally got to meet each other the other day and it was quite fun. Although the two of them didn't really pay much attention to each other, it was good for me and Kristin for sure.

Kristin and I went through our pregnancies together, which was great and it's been so awesome for me to have a friend learning all the ropes of parenthood and going through the same stuff at the same time. With the girls just 11 days apart, it'll be fun having them play together once they get older. For now they mostly just slept, ate, pooped and cried (more Zoe than Lydia!). But when we put them in the pack-n-play together it was total cuteness. Zoe is such a mover that she kept flailing her arms at Lydia, so we'll have to work on Zoe's punching problem. We can't wait for Baby Boy Stierwalt to join the party this summer!

Tummy Time

Zoe loves tummy time. She's holding her head up like a champ and last week she actually rolled over. She seems to really enjoy her tummy time, even though Charlie always tries to bust in there to see what's going on. Even though we know tummy time is all about helping her develop her strength and all that good stuff, I'm pretty sure she's just happy that she can get her fists into her mouth, which has been her main goal since birth.

One Month

We recently bought a sling because our little girl loves being held and using the sling gives us our hands free. She seems to really like the sling and even stays sleeping in it when it's off.

We can't believe it's already been over a month since Zoe arrived. In some ways it feels like the time flew and in other ways we feel like Zoe's been in our lives forever.

We went to her one-month check-up today and she's doing great. My biggest concern was her weight and I'm happy to report she's packing on the pounds! She's almost out of the stage 1 diapers, weighing in at 9 lbs, 10 oz. The doc said she's in the 75th percentile for weight. I'm really not sure what that means, but it sounds pretty good. She's also in the 25th percentile for height, which is quite an improvement from her 3rd percentile score at her newborn visit. There still may be hope for our little shrimp to be a normal short girl instead of a super-short girl!

Here's a few new pics to tide you all over as well.

Obsession

During my pregnancy Jody and I each got fixated on different baby gear. I'm guessing we got preoccupied with the gear to get our minds off the huge life change we were about to experience. I was all about finding a cute crib set and Jody was all about strollers.

After I finally picked out a crib set, my obsession quickly disappeared. But, Jody's stroller obession has continued. We now have a fleet of strollers for Zoe to hit the town in style.

This past weekend, however, I think Jody's stroller obsession finally came to an end when he got a sweet deal on a Bugaboo. He's had his sights on a Bugaboo from the get-go and I knew he wouldn't rest until he got one. We haven't taken it out into the world yet, but here's a peek at the new Boo. (Look how happy Jody looks!)

Bathing Beauty

Bath time is not Zoe's favorite time. But, she sure does have some cute bath accessories thanks to Steve and Jeremy who brought her a little chicken towel, along with some yummy foods for Jody and me from The Goddess and the Grocer. Thanks guys!

Big Brother

The protective big brother.
Thinking about eating Zoe, but deciding he loves her too much.
For all who have asked, Charlie is doing pretty well with the big changes happening at home. He's adapting to big brotherhood like a champ. He's a little sleep deprived, getting only about 15 hours a sleep a day vs. his usual 20 hours, and he gets very concerned when Zoe cries. He sniffs her quite a bit, but really he's been nothing but gentle around her, which is a huge relief.

When people come to the house, Charlie's been a bit more protective and barky, especially when visitors hold Zoe. He is especially skeptical of people who are standing up holding her. For some reason he chills out a bit more when everyone is sitting down.

Anyway, so far so good. I'm eager to see how Charlie does walking with the stroller, which hopefully we'll get to do this week if the weather cooperates.

Pink Lady

We've decided to give the blog a little makeover to celebrate the addition all things Zoe being a hot topic for our blogging fodder. Since we didn't know that we were having a little girl we mostly have a lot of gender neutral baby stuff. So, we're all about pink right now. Thus, I made this blog a big pink mess for a little while. Bear with me please. I'm just super excited to have a little girl!

I'm sure we'll get sick and tired of all things pink, so the blog will likely change again. But, for now it's all about pink power!
